Venetian Bronze Door Knocker Selection
Our venetian bronze door knocker finish is remarkably similar to most manufacturers oil rubbed bronze and aged bronze finishes. It is created on our solid brass castings. The first step is to polish and satin the brass casting to the desired finish. The casting is then copper plated and then polished again.

The copper plated door knocker is placed in a special oxidizer that turns the surface to a blackish brown color. The door knocker is lightly polished to even the texture of the surface and expose just a little of the copper plating below which is now a chocolate brown.

This surface provides great contrast for engraving. The engraving shows the exposed copper plating against the darkened body.

Following the engraving process the door knocker is finished with a clear lacquer to maintain the finish and preserve the engraving
