lion door knocker
The lion door knocker is a signature of elegance. This charming 18th century symbol of nobility can now grace your own front door. Our highly detailed ornate castings display the craftsmanship put into the making on this fine door knocker.
The heavy brass casting creates an impressive aura for your entranceway. This version uses a large ornate clapper that adds weight and beauty. Every detail is painstakingly finished.
This door knocker is attached to the door by three mounting bolts that pass through the door and screws into the back of the castings. Two hold the main body and one holds the clapper strike which is a separate piece.
Available in 2 sizes; 7-1/2" and 6-1/4". Each size is available in 5 different finishes; bright brass, satin brass, antique brass, satin nickel and antique nickel(pewter).
Both sizes use 1/4-20 flat head bolts and ornamental washers for mounting. These require three 5/16" to 3/8" diameter holes to be drilled through the door.
Lion head door knockers are not available as surface mount.
Our lion head door knockers are created from three separate brass sand castings. The main body depicts the lion's head in remarkable detail. The clapper displays medieval style ornamentation and the third being the clapper strike. The clapper is attached to the body by a pressed brass hinge pin to give the appearance of the lion holding it in his mouth.
Ornamental door knockers require 3-5 days for brass finishes and 7-10 days for nickel finishes for order processing.
