Quality engraving fonts are required for properly engraved door knockers. YDK uses professionally designed and formated engraving fonts designed specifically for this purpose.
When we say all upper case we mean "ALL THE LETTERS ARE ENGRAVED IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS".
When we say mixed case we mean "All The Letters Are Engraved In Upper And Lower Case Letters".
You will determine the casing of the engraving by how you type in the engraving instructions in the shopping cart.
All fonts contain a full set of upper and lower case letters, numbers and most punctuation marks
( . , ? + % $ # ! = & ).

 RomanULC engraving fontThe RomanULC font is well suited to door knockers where you are filling a rectangular shape such as on the body of a DK3 or DK8. This is because the lower case letters do not have descenders. The lower case looks just like the upper case but they are only 2/3rds the height.

 RomanMOD engraving fontThe RomanMOD font is probably the most recognized font. It represents upper and lower case letters shaped as you learned in grade school. Because the lower case does have descenders this font is not the best choice where height is limited such as on the DK8.

 HelveticaULC engraving fontThe HelveticaULC engraving font is similar to the RomanULC in that the lower case letters look exactly like the upper case but they are only 2/3rd the height. This makes this font ideal where height is limited such as on the body of the DK3 and DK8.

 Script engraving fontAn attractive version of the cursive lettering style. The lower case of this font does use descenders so limited height may affect the finished engraving.
Works well as mixed case. It should not be used as all upper case.

 Square engraving fontThe square font is popular as a bold easy to read font. It is a ULC font so the lower case letters are the same as the upper case only smaller. There are no descenders in the lower case letters of this font.

 Old English engraving fontThe classic Black Letter Old English is available for our door knockers. This is a very ornate and attractive font. The lower case does include descenders so height limitations may affect the finished engraving.
